Rabbitats will be staging a RHD vaccine clinic for all Rabbitats fosters, adopters and volunteers on Friday (Oct. 19) from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at the Little Paws Animal Clinic in Steveston. Please email rabbitats1@gmail.com or join our group if you have an unvaccinated rabbit. We will be able to do at least 40 rabbits, once we have our own rabbits taken care of (we have less than 40) we can open it up to other rabbits, however the costs at this time are unknown, we have to consult with Little Paws. (The charges at previous clinics have been around $40). Keep in touch via our group! While the RHDV2 virus has been inactive since the summer, history dictates it can reoccur at any time in any location, we STRONGLY recommend vaccinations for all rabbits.

Lucy never knew life without her mom. Now, she’s waiting for someone to show her what comes next.
It’s been almost a year since Angie left us.
When we rescued Angie, she had been surviving on the streets of Richmond for quite some time. Within days of her rescue, she surprised us with 6 beautiful babies: Bunton, Craig, Sophie, Rusty, Roland, and Lucy.
As they grew up, each of Lucy's siblings found loving homes. Lucy never did… she was a mama’s girl.
Lucy and Angie moved as a pair, learning to trust people at The Bunny Cafe, and waiting for a family to choose them both. But Angie’s health declined before that could happen. She was gone quickly, and it shook us all – leaving Lucy to face life without the one constant she'd ever known.
Lucy is now 5, the same age Angie was when she passed.
She lives at our shelter, where some days are full of joy… spent with volunteers in the grass, running laps, digging in the dirt, and flopping dramatically in holes she’s made. Fearless, loving, and wonderfully silly, she has so much to offer.
But most days are quiet, sleeping in her pen, waiting for something to change. We try not to anthropomorphize our rabbits, but it's hard not to wonder how much she misses her mom.
The ask: we need your help to find Lucy a future of love and companionship. She prefers female bunnies and would like to find a friend to share her life with. She’s a low-maintenance girl – no special grooming needs or health concerns. All she requires is space for binkying, a bunny companion, and a human who loves her.
Somewhere out there is another bunny waiting for a friend like Lucy. We know she's meant to have another bond, this time with a family who will love them both for years to come. If you could provide her with this, please reach out at rabbitats.org/adopt , or share her story so that she might reach someone who can.

Anybody recognize this beautiful lionhead?
Note to Whoever Abandoned him:
Was it you who dumped this poor rabbit in Hawthorne Park? He didn’t make it. 💔 A kind soul picked him up a few days ago, he was showing mild signs of illness (hind end weakness) and then got very sick last night. In spite of Rabbitats’ best efforts Ubering him to an ER vet, he passed away. 😢 The suspected cause, given that you dumped him in a forest, is Baylisascaris procyonis, aka raccoon roundworm, one of several parasites he probably picked up in that environment. He was a very sweet bunny. He didn’t deserve this. What were you thinking? :(
