We Say “Yes” to the Rabbits the World Doesn’t See

We are a responsible rescue. We can’t take in every surrender or trap every stray, but we’re there for the rabbits who need us most: seniors with cloudy eyes, frightened ferals pulled from traffic, the “plain,” the injured, the unwanted – we gladly welcome them into our hearts and care.

But saving high-risk rabbits comes at a cost. Every year, we vaccinate nearly 1,000 rabbits against RHDV. We provide ongoing care for the 500+ rabbits who rely on us, and step in for the desperate community cases with nowhere else to go.

And still, we know it isn’t enough. In Richmond alone, an estimated 2,000 domestic rabbits are loose. Each one of them is a life worth saving.

Our Sick Bunny Fund Saves Lives

This Giving Tuesday, please consider donating to the bunnies. Your gift directly supports rabbits like:

Marie

– found circling in a Richmond parking lot, her tiny head tilted so far she couldn’t walk straight. She loves to run circles in the grass and presses flat for as many pets as she can get. To some, she’s just “another feral.”

Blueberry

– brought to the vet to be euthanized for dental malocclusion. We couldn’t let that happen. She may need regular dental work, or improve as she matures. We’ll be with her every step of the way.

Riley

– run over by a car and left with a fractured jaw that made eating excruciating. He’s the sweetest boy, fighting to eat his Critical Care and breathe as we treat his respiratory infection. It’s a miracle he was rescued in time.

Elizabeth Taylor + Her Babies

– four of ten dumped lops dumped in Everett Crowley Park. Elizabeth had the saddest blue eyes and was visibly emaciated. In spite of vet care, she succumbed to the neglect and long-term starvation. Her babies are doing well, but miss their mom.

Elizabeth’s babies greeting her. We’re thankful they got to say goodbye before she passed on.

Until the end of Giving Tuesday, all donations will be matched up to $10,000, doubling every gift; this is a true corporate match, meaning we’ll receive matching funds only for the amount we’re able to raise.

Ways to donate:

Thank you for thinking of the rabbits this giving season. They make our world go ’round, and your support keeps theirs going.
