This lone, friendly, frantic bunny was spotted in an area where the hedges and bushes were being torn up for a construction project due to start today. Debbie and Lynn raced off in the cold and snow last night to get this girl. The bunny was hiding under a pier and ran to Debbie as soon as she called. Says Lynn: “I saw this scared eager bunny against the white blowing snow and I knew we had to get her. She screamed and screamed but then as I talked to her she calmed down and held her against me.” So this girl, now named Joyce, is safe at the shelter. We really need some foster homes, with the cold weather our outdoor holding spaces are even challenged meaning feral rabbits we expected to stay outside are taking space inside. Help!!

It's a sad day, but it's bringing back happy memories. River has left us after having medical issues that couldn't be resolved. 💔 She was almost 8 years old, having been caught with her brother Rock on the 4th floor of the River Rock Casino parkade back in the fall of 2017. We thought they were dumped babies, but we've since come to realize they were probably transported there after seeking refuge in the undercarriage of a car, something that happens quite frequently. It was a very touching rescue (courtesy of Deanna) none-the-less. River lived a good life in one of our colonies until her issues, and we're happy for that. ❤ 🌈 ... See MoreSee Less

Vaccine clinic round-up! On Wednesday, we hosted a vaccine clinic to protect our buns (and our community buns) from RHDV, a highly contagious and deadly disease.
With both The Bunny Cafe clinic and vaccine road trip through Richmond, Dr. Veronica vaccinated 147 rabbits in one day! A big thank you to our many volunteers you made this happen, including Dr. Veronica and organizers Chelsea and Deanna. 🐰✨
If your bun has yet to be vaccinated, or is due for their booster, please sign up for our waiting list at rabbitats.org/vaccine - This list tells us when we need to host more clinics, in-need communities, etc.
