Happy Tail Tuesday - Our darling Abby has found her forever home.

Abby came to us as a wee baby back in 2020, rescued at the Richmond Auto Mall. She's always been incredibly friendly; a total people bun that gives kisses freely (even to strangers) and can't get enough attention.

Bullied by other buns, she's been destined to be a loving solo house bunny, but was passed by for years. Maybe she was too old, maybe her black coat wasn't exciting enough for some, but with patience, we knew she'd charm her way into the perfect home.

When Abby moved to The Bunny Cafe, she went right to stealing hearts (and greens). Perfection in a fluffy body - who wouldn't want to bring her home?

Her new mom chose Abby from her online bio and sweet face alone (good writing, Chelsea 😉). And when they finally met, it was clear they were made for one another.

From the first night home, Abby was settled in like she owns the place. She gives her mom endless kisses, cuddles up beside her to nap, and likes to beg at her feet for treats.

It was quite the challenge, but the team did it!

A total of 22 rabbits (13 girls and 9 boys) were spayed and neutered on Sunday at the SPCA Hospital, despite plenty of hurdles, including a dead vehicle, a sick coordinator and a neighbourhood power outage that canceled day one of our two-day clinic and left all the rabbits to be done at once.

We opted not to proceed with four rabbits, including Riley and Francis, due to medical concerns. The rest all recovered quickly and are now being cared for at the shelter or in foster homes. (The humans, on the other hand, are still recovering!)

We have SO many people to thank, but we have to start with 🐰Brittanee Cornett ❤ for so ably stepping in for the ailing Cara Jo, and key organizer Dr. Emilia Gordon whose 'few hours' turned into all day and then some! ❤
