Our hearts go out to our rescue partners, Urban Safari Rescue Society, who suffered a devastating fire today and the loss of many of their animals. 💔 Our rabbits were not affected. (USRS kindly donated their courtyard and barn space to us back, we built enclosures and moved 125+ rabbits from the Richmond Auto Mall there in 2014, and around 70 are left, in addition to a half dozen or so belonging to Urban). We'll post more information shortly. The story is at the 13:40 mark. (If anybody can edit, please do).

UPDATE: Another rescuer picked up this rabbit, bunny is safe. Unfortunately they didn't communicate this to us, our volunteers were out in the cold, hauling around pens, etc, and worrying for nothing but oh well. We won't be able to go out on calls until the communication is addressed. For the immediate future the BCSPCA has the contract, they have the funding and we're happy to work with them. They also have a hospital. Emergency phone: (604) 709-4668 (During operating hours), (604) 879-7343 (Night 6p.m. to 12a.m.). After hours: call the Richmond RCMP. ![]()
This poor bunny at Landsdowne near the Skytrain Station may have a broken leg. S/he is under some very low bushes and can easily travel under there where humans can't. We're asking people to watch for him throughout the day and assess his injury if he's spotted. If he can be caught safely, go for it. We'll get him to the vet, etc. (Richmond, BC).
