Speed dates don’t guarantee a love match.
It can take two or even three sessions to find the right fit.
It’s a significant time commitment - by the end of a tricky date, humans are exhausted and single bunnies are DONE with the day. But we keep trying because we know that the benefit is worth the journey. 🤍
Getting your bunny a friend of their choosing is the greatest gift. We hosted a big day of speed dates, and found a couple of lasting matches:
Oscar + Sally - Zero fights. In the past, Oscar has lovingly been referred to as “Big Bully” and “The Grouch,” so you can imagine how elated we are about this match. Meant to be.
Juniper + Garry - A bit of a toxic match! Lots of grooming from miss Juni… but also lots of bites. They’re separated for now.. but who knows what the future holds?
Harper + Stella - Harper is flighty and energetic - an energy that tends to freak other bunnies out! Stella seems to love his chaos, and can’t stop grooming him, when he sits still. Harper is undecided as to whether or not he likes his new roommate.. but we feel like Stella’s charm will win him over.
Wasabi + Amalthea - Reunited! This is mommy and daddy from the Hope rescue. Spayed and neutered, they were ready to meet again. And boy did they miss each other 🥹
Luper and Leishen went home alone - no perfect matches this time. But when they’re ready to try again, we’ll be here!

“I found a domestic rabbit - what can I do?”
Report sightings to abandonedrabbits.com - we use this tool to track and trap when resources allow.
“If you won’t rescue them today, why bother reporting?”
We work immediately to rescue high-risk rabbits ie. injured rabbits, recent dumps, and newborns without their mother. We can’t take them all, but we can help find someone who can.
For the rabbits we can’t rescue yet, tracking is essential to show the widespread issue of abandoned and unwanted domestic rabbits.

8 babies found huddled in a pothole at the side of the road, weak and dehydrated. Half a block away, Mom had been struck by a car and was gone. Baby season is breaking our hearts. 💔
It’s a miracle that they were found, and by the right person. They were brought home for night, syringe-fed, then brought them to us for continued nursing. Baby foster Jen is giving them the utmost care.
Babies Barbie, Chickpea, and Hubcap have also moved to baby Foster Jen’s (read their rescue stories: shorturl.at/6PpDJ ), and the calls keep coming.
We found a small grey baby trapped in the Parq Casino parking garage. The team was there for hours. Trying to coax him out of a well-protected storage locker. From the dirt on our faces, you can see it was a tremendous effort. But by 3 AM, the bunny was in Brittney’s arms. Parq is living it up at Sorelle’s and loving life!
Next, a tiny orange bunny trapped in a care centre parkade. Her rescue took two days and the help of many, including Nurse Jean, whom we have named the bunny after.
Finally, a 3-day-old baby was found in the middle of No.3 Road + Granville. His finder brought him to Cozy Carrots; the owner texted Deanna a photo and one word: “Help”.
Help he received; the baby was brought to Jen, warmed up, and fed. Say hello to our youngest family member, Sungiven.
Donations are very needed for their care + future spays/neuters. If the donation button doesn’t work, use this link: paypal.com/ca/fundraiser/charity/3764772.
Or, if you’d rather not use PayPal, donate at rabbitats.org/donate.
In some cases, we can also accept e-transfers at donate@rabbitats.org, but tax receipts can only be issued if you send a second email with your name, email, street address, and the amount and date of your donation.❤️
