An update on poor baby Hoskins… for those who don’t remember, this is the baby lop found dumped in North Van with a broken leg, four broken ribs, and parasites.
He’s been on crate rest since mid-June the poor babe, trying to keep him as still as possible while he gained enough weight for surgery.
Today, we couldn’t wait any longer. And even though he was still too small for this surgery at just 1 kg, our vet made the call.
Thankfully, the little man pulled through. We were nervous that he’d need an amputation, but Dr. Rana was able to repair his leg with pins. That means eight more weeks of crate rest, with little to no activity for this wee bun.
He’s still far too small for his neuter, but is beginning to get hormonal. And with two more months of crate rest, it’s going to be really tough time for Hoskins.
We need to find a foster home for him where he can get as much attention as possible, where he can be hand-fed treats and food throughout the day and he can watch the goings on to keep his mind occupied.
If you work from home and would like to care for sweet Hoskins for the remainder of his crate rest, please reach out. We are desperately short for fosters right now and the shelter is full to the brim. There’s no way we can give him the attention he needs without help.

As always, donations are appreciated to help with Hoskins’ surgery bills and ongoing care. If the donate button doesn't work, try paypal.com/ca/fundraiser/charity/3764772 (fee free) or www.rabbitats.org/donate
