We are really good at rescuing and caring for rabbits, but frankly we are terrible at thanking people, and that is at least partly because there are so many to thank. It really does take a village, and we are so thankful to have a megatropolis behind us.

As we close out 2025, we are still crunching numbers, but roughly 100 rabbits came in this past year and we have fostered or adopted out 100. We had another 40 leave us for the rainbow bridge, most after long and happy lives. 🌈
We have been closed for intake periodically over the past two years to correct over-capacity issues (dating back to the Richmond shelter taking in 100 unexpected rabbits), and we are happy to report that aggressive foster and adoption campaigns and ongoing construction to increase our shelter capacity has largely solved that problem.
However now, with 500 rabbits under our wing, we are now mostly limited by vet bills. The costs have skyrocketed. We paid out $17280.78 in December alone. 😯 We were able to cover those bills thanks to the generosity of our donors ♥️ but we need to be cautious going forward. We can be optimistic about 2026, but we can’t be reckless. Sustainability needs to come first.
We look forward to a year in the future where we can take in ALL rabbits at risk. The dream is still our own farm supported by eco-tourism. We will get there eventually!
In the meantime here is a hint of another amazing project about to be unveiled that will indeed make the new year happy!
Thank you everybody!
Sorelle
