Check out a story about our South Surrey sanctuary in the Peace Arch News! Thanks to Matthew Hoekstra for his coverage and accuracy! Please share and spread the word about our establishing more ‘micro sanctuaries’, the rabbits need even more places to go.

We need bunny fosters!! We've onboarded a brand new foster coordinator and they are ready to help. 🐰💜
Our bunny fosters do so much for the bunnies, providing them with:
Important socialization
Medical support
Spay/neuter recovery
Emergency boarding
The love and attention that they deserve
If you've considered fostering but aren't sure, here's a bit of info on our most commonly asked questions:
🩷How long is a foster placement?
We offer both short and long-term foster placements. We usually ask for a minimum of 2 months, cautious of the stress that quick changes can add to bunnies' lives. For shorter-term fosters, we can place you on an emergency foster list. AKA, we need a safe space for a bun to land for a short period. Short-term fosters (2-4 weeks) are also incredibly valuable for bunnies needing medical treatment.
🩷Can I pick my foster bunny?
While we definitely want you to love the bun you bring home, fostering is more about providing the most at-needs bunnies with care (unless you're fostering to adopt.) Picking the right bunny will always be an open conversation.
🩷Do I need to provide my own supplies?
Fosters are responsible for basic supplies including hay, pellets, litterbox, x-pen, hidey house, etc. We cover all vet care while a bunny is in foster (appointments must be approved by Rabbitats). Some supplies are available for loan by request.
🩷How do I get approved to foster with Rabbitats?
We're ready when you are! The process is simple - fill out a form at rabbitats.org/foster and our foster coordinator will reach out for a chat. We require set-up photos before a bun goes home, and will provide you with all the tips you need for a fabulous set-up.
Feel free to leave any more questions in the comments below, or reach out through a foster form at rabbitats.org/foster to get started.
The bunnies thank you. 💕
