The 2020 bunny calendar is here! Get them while you can!

2020 Bunny Calendar

The 2020 Bunny Calendar is here, and it is our best one yet. With 13-months of super cute bunny photos by the amazing photographer Sarah Virag, this is a calendar you don’t want to miss.

$20 (+ shipping if needed) with all proceeds going towards our rabbit rescue efforts.

This year we are offering a discounted price for our much appreciated active volunteers and donors. To activate this discount, please mention your involvement with Rabbitats in your email.

We’ve been very busy this year building a new sanctuary to house the large and ever-expanding number of abandoned pet rabbits and their feral offspring. We get daily notifications of dumped rabbits and don’t have the space to rescue them all. We need your support! Every cent we receive goes directly to our rescue rabbits – housing, feeding, and providing much needed care and veterinary support. We could not do this work without your continued support.

They make amazing holiday gifts for every-bunny on your list… you may want to get a few, one for your home, one for your office? 😉

Don’t want a calendar, but want to help out rabbits in need? You can donate here. Note: we are now a registered charity, so your donation is eligible for a tax receipt!

Very limited print, so claim yours now by emailing calendar@rabbitats.org!

We offer shipping within Canada, the United States, and internationally, as well as have options for pickup within the Lower Mainland.

URGENT: Fundraiser for RHDV2 Vaccine!

By | Donate, Fundraiser, News, Sick Bunny | One Comment

RHDV2 killed thousands of rabbits last year and it’s still lurking in the environment.  We vaccinated close to 400 rabbits and they all need booster shots this year and we’re expecting to house another 400 rabbits or more in our new sanctuary.  We need to order at least that amount of vaccine or more now as there will only be one order this year and the deadline is APRIL 15th!  Even using bulk packs of vaccine, this is going to be an expensive proposition.  Vaccinating the rabbits is crucial.  Please donate to this cause! Please help! RHDV Fund

Rescue Story: Gilbert

By | Donate, Fundraiser, Rescue, Sick Bunny | No Comments

This is Gilbert. One of our volunteers spotted him falling over (on Gilbert St in Richmond) and another volunteer went out and caught him. (Thank you Amber and Lynn).   He went to our shelter and then to Little Paws to see Dr. Adam.  He underwent treatment for parasites and possible poisoning. We are neither mandated nor budgeted to pick up rabbits like Gilbert, but how can you not?    Animal control in Richmond won’t pick them up, and if they’re brought in they’ll just be euthanized, they don’t have the resources for long term care. But neither do we. And now we have Gilbert. And Gilbert’s sizable vet bill. His uncertain future is in our hands. We’re in desperate need of foster homes and Sick Bunny Fund contributions for rabbits like Gilbert. We just can’t leave them out there.

Abandoned New Zealand Whites

By | Fundraiser | No Comments

These four New Zealand White bunnies were abandoned on a road in Maple Ridge, the SPCA wouldn’t take them, the person who found them has been keeping them together in a tiny cage for the last month while trying to get them resituated. Unfortunately they are a mix of two girls and two boys, the boys for sure are mature. We have to get them to the vet ASAP to see if we’ve caught them in time. This is a large breed that has very large litters! The girls need to get to Apex in Langley TOMORROW (Saturday) to get checked out, we’re looking for a ride for them (they’re in Richmond), and as always, help with the spays and neuters would be much appreciated. <3 With having to pay rent on our new place, we’re challenged!

We need your support!

EMERGENCY!  The extremely contagious Rabbit Hemorrhagic Virus 2 has been found on Canada’s Vancouver Island and it’s likely to spread.  Our rescue is more at risk than others because we take in abandoned rabbits from the street and house them in protected but outdoor colonies.  We need to vaccinate our rabbits.  The vaccine is insanely expensive, it’s being imported from the UK under an emergency drug release program.  Please help us cover these costs!
